A Network & System Administrator is responsible for designing, maintaining, and securing an organization's computer networks and IT infrastructure. The role involves installing hardware and software, managing servers, monitoring network performance, ensuring data backups, and troubleshooting technical issues. Their primary objective is to ensure continuous system availability, optimal network performance, and secure operations across the organization.

- Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain servers, networks, and operating systems.

• Monitor system performance and network health to ensure seamless connectivity.

• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues in a timely manner.

• Implement and manage network security measures such as firewalls, antivirus, and intrusion detection systems.

• Manage data backup and recovery procedures to safeguard critical information.

• Maintain user accounts, access permissions, and system authentication policies.

• Apply software patches, updates, and security configurations regularly.

• Coordinate with IT teams and vendors for upgrades, troubleshooting, and procurement.

• Document system configurations, incident reports, and IT procedures.

- Required Skills

• Strong understanding of LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and routing protocols.

• Experience with Windows & Linux server administration.

• Knowledge of virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud environments (AWS / Azure / GCP).

• Expertise in firewalls, switches, routers, and network monitoring tools.

• Familiarity with Active Directory, Group Policy & IAM.

• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to handle critical IT incidents.

• Good communication skills and team collaboration.

- Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.

• Industry certifications are highly valued:

  • CompTIA Network+, Security+

  • CCNA / CCNP

  • MCSA / MCSE

  • RHCSA / RHCE
