A. Job Description

A Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Engineer is responsible for ensuring that software products meet the required quality standards before release. This role involves analyzing requirements, identifying defects, performing manual and automated testing, monitoring development processes, and ensuring that the final product is reliable, functional, secure, and user-friendly. The main goal is to prevent issues during development and ensure a smooth, bug-free experience for end users.

B. Key Responsibilities

• Review and analyze business requirements, technical documentation, and design specifications.

• Plan, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts.

• Perform functional, regression, smoke, integration, performance, security, and usability testing.

• Report and track bugs using project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Trello, Azure DevOps).

• Work closely with developers to identify the root cause of defects and verify fixes.

• Participate in sprint planning and Agile ceremonies to ensure quality throughout the SDLC.

• Ensure compliance with software quality standards and best practices.

• Prepare detailed test reports and support UAT (User Acceptance Testing).

• Suggest improvements in system performance, security, and overall user experience.

C. Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies and QA processes.

• Hands-on experience with manual and automated testing.

• Familiarity with automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Postman (API Testing), JMeter, etc.

• Knowledge of programming/scripting languages (optional but beneficial) – Java, Python, JavaScript, etc.

• Understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies.

• Attention to detail and strong analytical thinking.

• Good communication and documentation skills.
