I think most people succeed by continually learning, operating with strong values and a desire to make a positive difference. Few epitomize these qualities better than CA Neeraj Mittal, a renowned chartered accountant, entrepreneur, teacher, mentor, and motivational speaker. Under his visionary leadership and passion for student development, he has transformed the lives of thousands of aspiring professionals and entrepreneurs.

The brain behind NMC Education, CA Neeraj Mittal, has always been earnest in bridging the gap between academic learning and real-world success. His mission is not only to educate but also to inspire people to develop confidence, leadership skills, financial awareness, and a growth mindset.

Q1. Apart from professional titles, who is CA Neeraj Mittal? How did you get here? What experience shaped your career?

In addition to my designations of Chartered Accountant, Entrepreneur, Educator and Motivational Speaker, I am a lifelong learner and passionate about helping people realise their true potential. It began with the simple premise that education changes lives. Raised in a culture that prized hard work, discipline and lifelong learning, I was imbued with a strong desire to create opportunity for myself and others.

All through my career I’ve seen how education and the right mindset can transform a person’s future. These experiences have led me to dedicate my time to mentoring students, professionals and entrepreneurs. Each challenge I encountered was a lesson and each success reinforced my belief in the power of persistence and learning for growth.

Q2. What inspired you to start NMC Education and what gap did you find in the education ecosystem?

NMC Education was born out of the recognition of a huge gap between academic learning and real-world success. Students had knowledge in many instances but there was lack of practical exposure, guidance and confidence to excel professionally.

I wanted to build an institution that would help the students not only in preparing for examinations but also in creating careers, acquiring leadership skills and developing as individuals. The aim was to provide formal education coupled with mentoring, motivation and hands-on learning.

Today, NMC Education is a platform that helps students to dream bigger, work smarter and gear up themselves for future opportunities.

Q3. NMC Education Training for 1000s of students What does success in education mean to you?

Success in education cannot be gauged only through exam results or placements. Success is watching students gain confidence, find clarity, and make informed decisions about their futures.

“I think it is really rewarding to see a student who may have doubted their own ability succeed in the workplace.” Education should give people the power to think for themselves, to solve problems and to do good in society.

The biggest success is to see students grow to be leaders, professional, entrepreneurs and responsible citizens.

Q4. As a Chartered Accountant, what are the biggest financial mistakes entrepreneurs are making today?

The biggest mistake entrepreneurs tend to make is to focus on growth ignoring financial discipline. A lot of businesses fail, not because they have bad ideas, but because they have bad money management.

Entrepreneurs tend to overlook cash flow planning, budgeting and risk assessment. Too much money in expansion. No strong financial foundation.

My advice is simple: know your numbers, be disciplined with your money and always be prepared for the unexpected. Growth is sustainable when it combines ambition and financial prudence.

Q5. What advice would you give young professionals just beginning their careers?

The young professional is best served by focusing on skill building, not shortcuts. The world rewards skill, consistency and continuous improvement.

Invest in learning, be agile, never stop upgrading yourself. Success takes time. It is earned with years of dedication, discipline and perseverance.

And most of all, have confidence in yourself. Preparation breeds confidence and confidence can help you conquer even the most difficult challenges.”

Q6. What made you become a motivational speaker?

In my career, I’ve met a lot of really talented students and professionals who don’t have confidence. I knew that knowledge is not enough. People need inspiration and clarity and belief in their own capacity.

I learned that public speaking became a way to share experiences, lessons learned, and practical wisdom that could help others navigate their own journeys. To be able to influence someone’s life in a positive way through your words is powerful and rewarding work.

Q7. How vital is mindset in the road to success?

It is all about attitude. Skills are learnable. Some knowledge can be learned. It is, however, the mindset that decides how we respond to the opportunities and challenges.

A growth mindset sees setbacks as learning opportunities, not as failures. They embrace change, take responsibility and persevere through adversity.

I’ve found that the gap between the average performer and the exceptional one is often mindset, not talent.

Q8. What separates successful people from the rest?

Successful people have a few things in common: discipline, consistency, resilience, humility and the commitment to continuous learning.

Success isn’t about being the smartest person in the room. It’s about being consistent every single day, committed and focused when results don’t come immediately.

Persistence will usually beat talent if talent is not disciplined.

Q9. How do you balance as an educator, entrepreneur, mentor and speaker?

Balance is purpose. Every role I’ve had has been for the same reason, to help others to succeed and grow.

I believe in time management, that you delegate a task and focus on what makes the most impact. It is also a big part of building awesome teams and empowering people.

Working in alignment with your purpose makes juggling several responsibilities so much easier.

Q10. What kind of preparation do students need to face the future of AI and digital transformation?

The future belongs to those who can learn and adapt fast. “AI and technology are going to change industries, but they’re also going to create new opportunities.

Students need to develop skills in analytical thinking, communication, creativity, leadership and technological literacy. These skills will always be useful, no matter what technology may bring.

They should be able to embrace change rather than fear it and be ready to thrive in a rapidly changing world.

Q11. What leadership principles helped you grow NMC Education?

My leadership philosophy is based on integrity, accountability, empathy and continuous improvement.

Power is not the same as leadership. It’s about creating a space for people to grow, to contribute and fulfil their potential. A real leader gains the trust of others and leads from the front.

“I believe great organisations are built on empowering people, not controlling people.

Q12. Importance of ethics, trust and credibility in education & business?

Trust is one of the most valuable assets that an organization can have. Without trust there is no long-term success.

Students and parents have a lot of faith in institutions in education. The same holds true in business where clients and partners count on credibility to make decisions.

Strong relationships and sustainable growth are built on ethics and transparency. Shortcuts may offer short term benefits, but not long term success.

Q13. What is the importance of mentorship in your personal and professional growth?

Mentoring can help people avoid common mistakes and learn from other people's experience which will speed up development.

I have been blessed with mentors who challenged me, mentored me and expanded my mind along the way. That is part of what still gets me excited about mentoring others.

A good mentor can have a great influence on the person’s career, confidence and decision making skills.

Q14. Of what accomplishment are you most proud?

Professional milestones and organisational growth are important, but the achievements I am most proud of are the lives we have changed.

It is a great satisfaction to see students realise their dreams, professionals develop their careers and entrepreneurs build thriving businesses. Success stories like these remind me of why I started this journey in the first place.

The only true measure of success is the good we do to others’ lives.

Q15. What is your long-term vision for NMC Education and your broader mission?

My vision is to create one of the most trusted platform for education, mentorship and personal development in India. “NMC Education should continue to empower students, professionals and entrepreneurs with practical learning and meaningful guidance.

My general purpose outside of education is to inspire people to believe in themselves, to become leaders and to be a positive influence in society.

The future is for those who learn, unlearn and relearn. And create value for others.
