Q1. Who is Mukesh Mishra beyond the titles & organisations?

Beyond the professional titles and organisational responsibilities, I am a passionate community builder, a lifelong learner and a person committed to making a difference in the society. My journey has always been based on the belief that people have unlimited potential and can do amazing things with the right guidance, opportunities and environment.

“I’ve been fortunate to work in education, entrepreneurship, leadership development and sports over the years. Though each of these fields may look different on the surface, they all have a common goal: empowering people. It is all about motivating individuals to become the best version of themselves. Be it making students future leaders through IIEMR, motivating people to take healthy lifestyles through Jaipur Marathon or creating a running culture through Jaipur Runners Club.

I really do believe success is not about money or career achievements. True success is the good that we do to others. That philosophy still drives every initiative I am engaged in.

Q2. What was the inspiration behind starting the Jaipur Marathon and how has the vision changed over the years?

The idea of Jaipur Marathon was conceived from a very simple observation: people were becoming busier, more stressed and more disconnected from a healthy lifestyle. Back then, organised running events were still a novelty to India and awareness about the benefits of endurance sports was low.

I wanted to build something to make people put their health first and to also bring people together in communities.” Running is one of the most accessible forms of fitness. It’s cheap to do but can change lives physically, mentally and emotionally.

What began as a fitness program grew into a movement. Over the years, participants from different age groups, professions and regions have participated in the Jaipur Marathon. We’ve witnessed first-time runners complete their first race, senior citizens become active, and thousands of people develop lifelong fitness habits.

Today is the Jaipur Marathon, much more than just a sporting event. It is a platform that preaches health, discipline, community involvement, and social responsibility.

Q3. Tell us about IIEMR and the impact it is creating?

IIEMR was founded with a vision to bridge the gap between the conventional education and industry expectations. We understood that academic knowledge is important but in today’s competitive world students and professionals need practical skills, leadership capabilities and entrepreneurial thinking to succeed.

Our mission is to equip individuals with the knowledge, confidence, and mindset needed to succeed professionally and personally. Through various programs, workshops, leadership initiatives and industry interactions, we strive to groom future leaders who can contribute meaningfully to society.

The most rewarding part of IIEMR’s journey has been seeing students transform into confident professionals, entrepreneurs and change-makers. Education is about more than getting you ready for a job. Education is about getting you ready for life. That belief is the core of everything we do.

Q4. How do you measure success and social impact of Jaipur Marathon?

“Participation figures and event growth are good markers but I think the real success of Jaipur Marathon is to bring about long-term behavioural change.

Each year we hear of people who have been inspired to start running because of the marathon, and who have gone on to lead healthier lifestyles. Some have shed obesity, some have improved their physical and mental health, and many have discovered a new sense of confidence and purpose.

“Our success is when we see communities embracing fitness, families participating together and young people understanding the importance of health and discipline. These transformations send ripples that extend far beyond a single event.

How do you measure a marathon? When it inspires thousands of people to change their lives for the better.

Q5. What are the biggest challenges you have faced in setting up Jaipur Marathon?

It hasn’t been easy to build a marathon culture in the early years. “Creating awareness and changing perceptions was one of the biggest challenges. Few people knew much about endurance sports or the benefits of structured running.

“Another challenge was building trust. Large scale events require the collaboration of the participants, sponsors, government agencies, volunteers and community stakeholders. It took steady work and dedication to build trust and keep quality high.

There were also logistical challenges to putting on events at scale. But each challenge was an opportunity to learn, to improve, and to create a stronger organization.

In retrospect, what helped us most to get through challenges was perseverance and belief in the vision.

Q6. How do sports and fitness help to build a healthier society?

Sports and fitness can change societies. They foster resilience, discipline, teamwork, leadership and mental well-being. In today’s fast-paced world with increasing health problems related to lifestyle, physical activity is more important than ever before.

Fitness is more than just physical health. It also improves productivity, confidence, emotional balance and quality of life overall.

When people get healthier, families get healthier. Healthier families make for stronger communities. That is why I think fitness needs to be a social movement, not just something we do for ourselves.

Q7. How do you balance vision, execution and strategy in the long term?

Strong vision provides direction, but execution produces results. I have always tried to maintain a balance between strategic thinking and consistency in my career.

I believe in setting clear goals, empowering teams and creating systems that make it easy to execute. Great leaders do not do it all themselves. Great leaders enable others to contribute effectively to a common vision.

Success takes patience. Many organisations are looking for short-term results, but sustainable growth is the result of consistent efforts over time.

Q8. How have the leadership principles informed your journey?

I have always believed that the philosophy of leadership should be based on integrity, accountability, humility and lifelong learning.

“Leadership is not a position or power. It’s about influence, trust, and service. Great leaders inspire others with what they do. They don’t tell them what to do.

I have always believed that strong teams build successful organisations. Thus, investing in people, fostering innovation, and creating opportunities for growth are vital components of leadership.

Q9. What is the future of marathons and endurance sports in India?

The future looks very bright. India is witnessing a massive change in the lifestyle of people towards health consciousness. More people than ever are taking up running, cycling, swimming and other endurance sports.I think the next decade is going to be a big growth decade for sports tourism, for community-based fitness initiatives, and for wellness-driven events. Technology will also help to improve the experience of participants and to encourage healthier lifestyles. This is an opportunity not just to host events, but to create a national fitness culture that inspires people to make their health a priority.

Q10. What advice would you give entrepreneurs and community builders?

Focus on solving real problems and delivering real value. Success is rarely instantaneous. It takes patience, resilience and a willingness to learn from mistakes.Entrepreneurs tend to downplay the importance of consistency. “Extraordinary results are born of small things repeated over and over again.”Another important factor is trust. Build relationships, keep integrity and always think about long term value over short term gains.

Q11. How can technology assist organizations and communities to scale their impact?

Technology is a powerful enabler of growth. It allows organizations to access larger audiences, streamline processes, improve communication, and deliver better experiences.Technology helps build engagement, track performance and create meaningful interactions for events and communities. Local initiatives can become global movements thanks to digital platformsThe organisations that will be best placed to make sustainable impact in the future are those organisations that make effective use of technology.

Q12. How can platforms such as Fixnhour help to grow businesses?

Visibility and credibility are the lifeblood of business growth in today’s digital-first world. It is a shame that many great companies suffer because they don’t have good platforms to show their expertise and accomplishments.Fixnhour can be a critical tool to help companies improve discoverability, build trust, strengthen founder branding and connect to new opportunities.Platforms that promote transparency, credibility and business networking bring great value to companies and customers.

Q13. What are you most proud of your achievements?

Awards and accolades are nice, but the achievements that I take the most pride in are the lives that we have touched.Whether it’s a student who found their path through education, a runner who changed their health, or a community that came together for a good cause, these are meaningful successes. Making a positive difference in people’s lives will always be more rewarding than any professional achievement.

Q14. What do you hope for the future?

I see myself continuing to develop initiatives that help individuals, build communities and create lasting social impactI want to see more people using leadership, entrepreneurship, education and fitness as a way to transform themselves and society. Those who learn, adapt and give back for the greater good will own the future.

Q15. A Farewell Note to Future Leaders and Entrepreneurs

Dream big but keep your feet on the ground. Success is not a destination; it is a journey of continuous growth and learning.During hard times, be disciplined; during good times, be humble; and never lose faith in your purpose. The world needs more leaders that create value, inspire others and make a positive impact on society.
