As the job market is becoming more competitive, companies are seeking the best talent available, and the recruitment market is changing rapidly. In the evolving landscape of hiring, technology and AI are reshaping the face of recruitment, but there is still a critical need to understand people, build trust, and match talent with longer-term business objectives.

In this exclusive Fixnhour Founder Spotlight, we talk to Prashant Y., Founder & CEO of Disa Consulting Services, about his entrepreneurial journey, the future of recruitment, and how strategic hiring can help in achieving sustainability in the business. Prashant has a wealth of expertise in recruitment, talent acquisition, and business development spanning over 10 years and has made Disa Consulting Services a trusted hiring partner for startups, SMEs, and enterprises. He offers some great insights into AI in recruiting, employer branding, leadership, hiring struggles, and his future outlook of the industry in this interview.

Who is Prashant Y.?

Prashant Y. thinks it's all about creating futures, not filling vacancies while recruiting. He has successfully built a new recruitment, talent acquisition, and business development firm that enables him to serve as a strategic headhunter for start-ups, SMEs, and enterprises for more than a decade. He focuses on defining company objectives, culture, leadership expectations, and workforce planning for the long term to recommend candidates. While he thinks technology and AI will change recruitment, the fundamentals of trust and relationships and human judgment will always be in play.

1. What inspired you to establish Disa Consulting Services?

For me, entrepreneurship was more about addressing a real business problem, rather than it being about building another recruitment business. As I have seen over the years, the companies would hire people fast but not in the best way, and the talented would not find a place where they could truly develop. That made me feel inspired to turn the idea of Disa Consulting Services into a business that I would be able to sustain as a talent partner. Before starting to hire, we first learn about the client's business, leadership, and future plans. I don't think the value is added to recruitment if either one or both are failing. In the future, AI will streamline and expedite the hiring process, but the significance of insightful discussions, trust, and leadership cannot be overstated in the realm of hiring.

2. How has recruitment evolved over the last decade?

For me, entrepreneurship wasn't about starting another recruitment business; it was about addressing a real business need. Through the years, I noticed that companies were hiring people too fast, too soon, and talented individuals were having trouble locating the company that could offer them the growth they needed. That motivated me to take the leap and start Disa Consulting Services as a long-term talent partner. Prior to starting the hiring process, we take the time to get to know the client's business, leadership style, and future objectives. I feel that value is only added to recruitment when both the organization and the professional are successful. In the future, AI will speed up and optimize the recruitment process, but the key to making the right hiring choices will always be the quality of the conversations, trust, and leadership.

3. What differentiates your company from other recruitment firms?

For me, entrepreneurship wasn't about building another recruitment company; it was about solving a real business problem. As time went on, I noticed that many companies were filling their roles in a hasty manner with little regard for the right person and resume, and many great individuals were not able to find the right company to allow them to grow. So I decided I would work on Disa Consulting Services as a long-term talent partner. Before initiating the hiring process, we take time to understand the business, the leadership style, and the direction the client's business is heading. I think that the recruitment process is only valuable when the organization and the professional are successful. In the years to come, AI will continue to speed up and streamline recruitment processes, but effective conversations, trust, and leadership will remain the true factors in quality hires.

4. What are today's biggest hiring challenges?

We were not looking to start another recruitment firm; we were looking to answer a real business need for me. In the years that have passed, I noticed that companies were mishandling the recruitment process by hiring fast and not smartly, and talented people were not able to find companies in which they could develop. This motivated me to create Disa Consulting Services as a long-term talent partner. Before we start hiring, we pay special attention to understanding the business, leadership style, and future goals of our client. I think the value of recruitment is realized when there is a win-win situation for both the organization and the professionals. In the future, AI will help to streamline and accelerate recruitment, but meaningful discussions, trust, and leadership will always define the quality of hiring decisions.

5. How is AI transforming recruitment?

I did not start an organization to be another recruitment company—I learned that entrepreneurship was about solving a real business challenge. As the years went by, I noticed that businesses tend to hire fast, but not smartly, and that great workers were hard to come by in companies that didn't allow them to develop the skills they needed. That got me thinking: How can I be a long-term talent partner for Disa Consulting Services? Prior to the hiring process, we get to know the client's business, leadership style, and future objectives. Only when both organizations and professionals are successful do I believe that recruitment creates value. In the future, AI will streamline and expedite the recruitment process, but true conversations, trust, and leadership will remain the key factors in making good hiring choices.

6. What advice would you give startups hiring their first team?

The business challenge for me was the one that was the catalyst for entrepreneurship and not something like another recruitment company. I noticed over the years that companies were hiring people up very rapidly, and they weren't necessarily the companies that you would want to work for, and talented people were not getting hired in the right companies to really develop themselves. That was the inspiration to create Disa Consulting Services as a long-term talent partner. Prior to hiring, we will take time to understand the client's business, leadership style, and future goals. I firmly believe that value is only added to the recruitment process when it is a symbiotic process between both organizations and recruitment professionals. In the future, AI will help to streamline and expedite the hiring process, but the essence of the hiring process—the conversation, the trust, and the leadership—will remain the same.

7. How do you build long-term client relationships?

Entrepreneurship to me was never a recruitment firm; it was a real business problem to solve. I noticed over the years that companies would hire people fast but not right and that great talent was hard to find in places to do great things. This motivated me to create Disa Consulting Services as a long-term talent partnership. Before hiring, we learn as much as possible about the client's business, leadership, and future objectives. I think that recruitment is a process that adds value only when it combines the success of both the organization and professionals. As for the future, AI will make the recruitment process quicker and more efficient, but that will not replace meaningful conversations, trust, and leadership in making hiring decisions.

8. What leadership principles guide your journey?

To me, entrepreneurship was never about building another recruitment business; it was about finding a real business problem and solving it. I saw that organizations could get rid of people quite fast but would not hire them wisely; that great talent would be hard to find in organizations that would allow them to develop their skills. The idea was so appealing that I decided to create my own long-term talent partner in the form of Disa Consulting Services. Before entering the hiring process, we need to understand the client's business, style of leadership, and future plans. I think the value of recruitment happens only when both the organization and the professionals are successful. In the future, AI will be instrumental in making recruitment quicker and more effective, but the quality of the recruitment process will still be decided by meaningful conversations, trust, and leadership.

9. Why is employer branding important?

I knew that entrepreneurship wasn't about making another recruitment business; it was about solving a real business challenge. As I have seen over the years, there were times when I had to rush a company to hire someone I thought was great, but the company didn't see that potential. The other way, I saw people who were great and finding companies where they could truly excel and grow. What I saw over the years is that companies would hire quickly and not strategically, and great people would be looking for companies to grow into and develop their talents. Fixnhour gave me the inspiration to start Disa Consulting Services as a long-term talent partner. Prior to hiring, we are focused on the client's business, leadership style, and future aspirations. I feel that recruitment has value if both the organization and the professional are successful. In the future, AI will help speed up and streamline the recruitment process, but the quality of hiring will always rely on the conversations, trust, and leadership.

10. What is your long-term vision?

When I started out, I didn't start another recruitment company; I was addressing a real business problem. I noticed over the years that the companies tended to hire fast, but not smart, and the talented tended to be stuck in companies that they could not help but notice had a problem of smart hiring. It was that which motivated me to create Disa Consulting Services as a long-term talent partner. Before we start recruiting, we pay attention to the client's business, leadership approach, and future aspirations. To me, recruitment adds value only when organizations and professionals are successful together. In the future, AI will help with recruitment speed and efficiency, but nothing can replace the impact of meaningful discussions, building trust and developing leadership in the process of making recruitment decisions.

11. What message would you like to share with entrepreneurs?

When I decided to go into business, it was not to build another recruitment firm; it was to address a real business issue. I noticed that companies over the years were quickly hiring people but not well, and that great employees were lacking when it came to finding a company that would let them excel. That led me to create Disa Consulting Services as a talent partner for life. Before starting the hiring process, we take the time to understand the client's business, leadership style, and future objectives. I think there is value in recruitment only if the whole profession and organization are successful. In the future, AI will help to streamline and speed up recruitment processes, but real engagement, trust, and leadership will remain the essential factors in making high-quality hires.
