A Technical Writer creates clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation that explains complex technical information. The role involves working closely with developers, engineers, product managers, and QA teams to translate technical concepts into guides, manuals, API documentation, help articles, and product documentation.

Key responsibilities:

• Write and maintain user manuals, API documentation, installation guides, and release notes
• Convert complex technical concepts into simple, understandable content
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to gather technical information
• Edit, standardize, and improve existing documentation
• Ensure documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and consistent
• Create tutorials, FAQs, and knowledge base articles
• Use documentation tools (like Markdown, Confluence, Git, or Docs-as-Code systems)
• Test products or APIs to understand usage and improve documentation quality

Required Skills

Technical Skills

• Strong writing and editing skills
• Understanding of software development concepts (APIs, SDKs, databases, cloud basics)
• Knowledge of documentation tools (Confluence, Git, Markdown, Swagger/OpenAPI)
• Familiarity with version control systems (Git/GitHub)
• Basic ability to read or understand code (Python, JavaScript, etc. is a plus)

Communication Skills

• Ability to simplify complex technical topics
• Strong collaboration with engineering teams
• Good research and interviewing skills

Analytical Skills

• Ability to understand product workflows and system architecture
• Attention to detail for accuracy and consistency

Optional/Advanced Skills

• UX writing experience
• HTML/CSS basics
• Experience with API testing tools like Postman
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum workflows
